How very simplistic and silly. You go to work because you're hungry, and if you're a grown-up, it's your job to support yourself. You ought to send your kids to a school of some kind, if only in the often vain hope that they can make something of themselves. Fashion? TV? If you want to waste time like that, that's your decision. That is freedom. I choose not to do these things. Save for your old age because again it's your own responsibility. The law? If it's respectable, then yes, follow it. You do that because you hope that everyone else does so you can go on living without fear in civilization. Meanwhile, get on your knees and thank God you were born in the time and place you were, so that you can live without fear.

Grow up and get some perspective. Then write some graffiti that make sense ---- on your own property.

I don't think this is meant to insult, but more to open peoples eyes. Read it how you want, but the main point is to question whether you're living your life the way you actually like. I know I don't like being forced to pay bills, get taxed beyond belief, or get told what I can or cannot put into my own body.
I understand there are consequences to technology, but I want it to be run properly by someone who actually wants to benefit the people instead of restricting them.

Its sad people think this faux philosophy has weight. Human beings like being part of society. Working, procreating and pursuing entertainment are normal human functions. It is healthy. Abandoning this in favour of chasing your own ego is a recipe for chaos and death. This grafittis sums up the American folly of individual god-lust.

Who are you to judge the author? You have no idea what his or her life is like. I understood the point you made in the first paragraph, but after I read the rest you lost all credibility. On what evidence are you basing the claim that he uses drugs, is harassed by the police, or is a high school dropout? How do you know that he doesn't feel free? How do you know that he lives a pessimistic, antagonistic lifestyle?

this tagger is not saying americans are not free willed, he's saying that complete and total freedom is an overstatement, considering the fact that no one can make it in this world without working their hands to the bone and following a routine. and that anyone who rebels against such an order, is tossed aside.

Please don't suggest conformists are"sheeple" just because they differ in opinion from your perspective. Being free is just as much the choice to conform as it is to rebel. Judgement of any type; no mater how mundane, is a systemic equivalent to the "fallacy" that this poem suggests (ie what you accuse, you practice [hypocrisy]). The content of the poem suggests a polarized, reactionary and irrational prejudice for the method seemingly untested by the author. The statement "Repeat after me: I am free" is not only insulting to the intelligence of the reader, but implies that the reader requires the author's direction in order to live their lives in compliance with the orthodoxy of the author. Thus, the statement does not prescribe objective freedom, but the interpretation of the concept of freedom as written by its advocate. An ideology (again, as suggested by this poem) is a set of principles adhered to with a dogmatic intonation that the desired outcome will be met so long as the spirit of those pre-established principles are preserved, while enduring the process toward the stated goal. If this poem is a rebellion against structure, it's suggested alternative is equally as structured. If this poem is suggesting rebellion without purpose; the potential result is equally as extreme as what the poem condemns.

As a final thought, if you don't have a better idea, fuck off.

The last sentence is what draws my mind. But in the end... what do you consider freedom?
Is there such a thing? And to what degree do you desire it? Under the most popular terms,
the more 'freedom' you have, the more your trample on other people's 'rights' and diminish
their 'freedom', hence laws.
...walk on the pavements, save for your old age... is there any leeway in any of of really? Is there
any real choice we have? I refer to our general activities beyond a deterministic view. Do we
have a choice? Maybe the choice the graffitist gives us is live hard and die quick?
